FIRST LOVE BECOMES SECOND CAREER
Somewhere between college and midlife, Wilmette resident Jeff Mackevich put aside performing music to concentrate on building a family and a career as a financial planner.
But music, and his saxophones, were waiting for him. Roughly two decades after putting his saxes aside, Mackevich hasn't simply revived his jazz career but has landed a regular gig at one of Chicago's best-known musical venues, Pops for Champagne.
He is celebrating the release of his second CD "Boytoy" and his 50th birthday in May.
